I figured we could all suffer together and report our miseries together

I purchased 6.062 gallons at $3.29 a gallon today, total $20.00
But I did save .67 with my Kroger plus card that knocked it down to $19.33

It is going to cost me $19.33 to drive to town and back twice :(

Oh good, a place to commiserate. My Jeep is empty, gotta go when I get off work. I think it's around 3.25 in town.

We are also at $3.29 here- it was $3.11 just a week ago! My van takes 20 gallons- whata pig to fill and only gets 14-15 mpg around town, and that is what most of my driving is! Uggg, so not looking ofrward to $4 a gallon again, and higher....

Ours is up to $3.39. So glad that we both work in our town. I think Davids job is 3 miles away and mine is 5 blocks. However, with only one car, my day is:

take David to work
come back home -plug in car
me to work
me home -plug in car
pick up David
come back home - plug in car

All of these short trips really can suck a tank down in no time. On top of that, when I'm trained in to do deliveries, I don't get milage, or even make a little more, just get to keep my tips.

However, I would rather pay the prices I am now verses 4 years ago when David did masonary work. Our monthly gas bill just for him to travel back and forth to work was $600.

If prices keep going up like last time, I'll have to limit my shopping trips to every other week instead of weekly like I'm doing now. Oh, well may miss out on a few deals here and there, but that's ok.

It's about $3.29 here also. Natt drives to work and back which is about 15 miles. Then he takes me to school in the morning which is about 3... then random trips, etc it adds up...

I almost can't afford to go to work! I have a 63 mile round trip each day- and that's just to and from work. Most days I have to visit our other branches or customers! Fortunately, I get reimbursed for mileage.

Hubby has a 54 mile round trip and has been taking my car....his V8 4WD Dodge is a gas guzzling pig and gets a whopping 12-14 miles a gallon, my car averages 20.

Ours was $3.34 yesterday. I put $20 in and it only got to about half full. That stinks! Luckily I work from home so I don't have to get gas much. Most of my shopping trips I do around town.

I went this morning and had a quarter of a tank. It held 11.83 gallons at 3.38 a gallon for mid-grade. Total of 40.00. My mom gave me a hint to help ease the hurt, she told me to fill up a half a tank and it doesn't hurt so bad!! I drive 60 miles round trip 4 days a week for work and get 20 mpg.

It's $3.26/gallon at my local gas station. When I go in for gas, I fill up. A full tank for me is about $48 bucks at this rate. I fill up about once a week. My husband on the other hand, is at the gas station 2-3 times a week... his car needs about $40 to fill up, sometimes less if he is just topping off. :) It sucks, but it seems there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I only go to school two days a week, but I run around and do other things, too. I heard someone on the news say it was going to creep up to about $5/gallon by the summer. SO not cool...

$3.39 here in Ohio....my commute is only about 10 miles round trip....I have an Envoy and i get about 16 miles per gallon.....DH has a chevy truck, DS has a trail blazer and DD has a Scion........4 cars.....this is gonna really suck!

$3.59 here now. Been that for almost a week. Oh, and I started delivering pizzas yesterday. UGH I told David to look for a junker car for me, I don't want to run up miles on my new car, nor have animals jump on it and scratch the paint.

David asked me if I made enough in tips to cover the gas and milage. Um, no hun, I only delivered 2 pizzas, but got $13 in tips and delivery charge, on top of my hourly.

Ok, so I'm not gonna break the bank on my income and tips, but every little bit helps.

OMG! Hubby just called and said he is going to start driving his truck this coming week to work and back! He has been driving my car because it uses much less gas than his truck. Because of the storms last night he decided that he doesn't want me here without my car! (I don't like driving his truck, but geez I could in an emergency, I don't like driving my car either, heck I don't like driving in general!)

It will cost twice what he pay now for him to drive that gas guzzling pig!

I paid $3.72 which isn't too bad considering everywhere else around here is around $3.85 at the moment. I went to Sam's Club so I could use my shopper card. Kroger usually has cheaper gas if you use your reward card, too. At least cheaper than the normal gas station.

Ours went up to $3.84. I'm keeping track of my miles I put on doing deliveries, not sure if I will be able to claim them on taxes next year. I'm really not sure how all that works, but I'll continue to keep track.

I would think you would be able to claim your mileage. I'm lucky, when I have to drive for work there is a form we fill out to get paid for our mileage. I think it currently is 43.5 cents per mile.

Lynda, you can claim the mileage and much more! if you are required to use your personal vehicle for work related activity you can claim a percentage of just about everything from the upkeep to your cost...call an accountant and find out what you need to be keeping records of :)

When I worked for Head Start we used our personal vehicles for home visits, I was able to deduct a lot :)

Tara- I got gas yesterday for 3.89, it was one of 2 stations that hadn't changed to 4.15 yet. Giant Eagle was one of them but all their pumps were out of order! The other station was the top of the viaduct. Everything in my neck of the woods is 4.15 too.

$3.89 in my town. David said that a neighboring town was $3.90 in the am and $3.95 in the afternoon when he went back through.

I should talk to my boss, she does our taxes (H&R Block) and see what else I need to keep track of.

I was on the council for head start, we got reimbursed mileage at the federal rate. I actually made more in reimbursements than I actually used going to meetings.
