I have wanted a one for quite a while now....I was all set to buy the Kindle, then my kiddos threw the iPad into the mix. Does anyone have the Nook, Kindle or iPad? what do you like or not like? What do you use it for? I am so confused with all the new features they are advertising....anyone have thoughts they can share?

I got an iPad as a mother's day gift and I love it sooooooo much! I really think it is a much better investment than a kindle as you can download a kindle app to it in about 45 seconds and do so very much more with it! I truly love it!

Wendy my kiddos have the iPhones....they are great....but they paid for them. I drop my phone way too much (klutzy) and the fact that you cant insure them, scared me away!!!! DD boyfriends swears i will love the iPad and will be able to do so much more....i was jsut wondering if it was just TOO much for lil ole me.

I wanted the itouch so I could use it while i was shopping to check the boards for deals while I was there. The itouch though doesn't get a signal unless there is wireless available:( Most stores here don't have it yet. The iphone gets signal everywhere. I didn't know you couldn't ensure it though- that is scary

Call me crazy, but I'd rather spend the money just buying more books. lol I'm an avid reader and there's nothing I like better than curling up with a good book to take my mind off of other things. Curling up with a cup of tea and a Kindle somehow doesn't hold the same appeal. lol

Good luck with whatever one you choose. :)

I love to curl up with a book too! Oh dont get me wrong...but when we went to Punta cana I brought 6-7 books with me (my suitcase was over the weight limit by 4 lbs).....our book shelves are over flowing with books and we just purged. It would be kind of nice to save a tree or two....but I saw that now they have these beautiful leather covers/holders for the kindle and nooks that make them look like leather bound books.. oh and believe it or not, the only bookstore we have in town is Walmart !!!! I think it would be kind of nice when I find something I wanna read i can download it then and not have to wait to travel 30-40 minutes to a Barnes and Noble in Pittsburgh....incase you cant tell I live in a very small town!

Karen, they download so fast and are never out of stock! I read so quickly that, like you said, going on a trip requires many book that take up so much space and weight! My case is red leather and snaps like a book. The page is different than a regular computer screen so my eyes don't hurt looking at it for long and I never keep DH up with a light when I read at night! Plus, I can go online, have my music collection right there as well (so no more need for several gadgets on a trip), and so many other fun little things!

And we have a beautiful library but when our book stores closed...the library became so busy....you have to be on a waiting list for everything!! In my next life, I am definitely living in a bigger city!!!!

Delissa these are things that I was looking to find out....I just dont know if I am savvy enough to use the Ipad.... I am technilogically challenged sometimes!!!! DD boyfriend pretty much said the same things as you...that it would eliminate a lot of gadgets....and that everything would be in one place.

Oh Karen, it is soooo easy. Seriously! One of their commercial's is that you "already know how to use it". It's true! I haven't had trouble with anything. If you have ever used iTunes for any gadget, it's a breeze. DH bought it for me as a surprise, I didn't even think it was something I wanted and was kind of intimidated, but it was easy and I really love it!

I have a kindle that I got for Christmas and I love it! It never loses my place because one of the kids moved my bookmark lol. I have an iPhone too and I have the kindle app so while I was waiting for my crown to bake or whatever they do to it I was able to read and listen to my music from my iPod at the same time :) I invested in the otterbox cover so when I drop it, it's much less likely to have damage and it's water resistant :)

 Les....I wanted to buy the otterbox for my DS and DD boyfriend and neither of them wanted it!!!! They said it made the phone to bulky....about a week later, DD boyfriend dropped his phone and shattered the screen....dumb boys!! LOL

I love, love, love, love my Kindle. However, with the choices, I think I'd go iPad, because then you've got an all-in-one.
