The other night at Target I picked up a fake baby Christmas tree that stands around 2 ft tall. It's so adorable. I also picked up tiny ornaments to put on it... I am really excited for us to decorate it... We got a fake and tiny one because we still go home to our parents for the Holiday's...Or else I would get a big and REAL one!
I will post pictures when I finally get it up...
But I was wondering... How soon is too soon to put it up? When do you usually do it? After thanksgiving?

Since we started getting a real one we put it up 2 weekends before. When we had a fake tree we did Thanksgiving weekend.

I prefer real ones... but since it's just us and we are not even here... a fake one works!

hubby is alergic to real ones- can't even have real wreaths or pine cones around. Fake all the way for us, but easier too.

We usually put our tree up the first or second week of December. I love a live tree but the first year we were married we put up a live tree. When I took it down the week after Christmas, my husband went to burn the boxes and tree. It went poof! Burned within seconds! He says no more live trees, to much of a fire hazard.. (It was very well watered too...)
If you put up a live tree, be very careful.

when I was a child we did a live balled tree every year and then planted it on New year's Day in the yard......as I was growing up it was so much fun remembering each Christmas by the trees on the property...it had been done that way since my mom was a little girl!
We have cut our own trees (have scotch pine trees planted just for this purpose, my mother and I planted them back in the '90s before she became ill) But the past few years we have done a fake tree.
We will probably do a fake three this year...we put our tree up on Christmas Eve and it goes down on New Year's Day.
When I was growing up our entire family would gather at Grandma's on Christmas Eve, and everyone had an ornament, and we each took our turn hanging our ornament on the tree, it took over an hour for everyone in the bunch to get their turn....everyone would eat, laugh, share stories while the tree was being decorated....they were absolutely wonderful times.

Go ahead ladies, put those trees up if you want! Enjoy the season with all the ones you love. Before you know it, time has flown by, the kids are grown, and sadly we have lost some of those we so dearly love. Enjoy every single moment the Lord has blessed us with! I need to remember this myself!
