Thanks to forthemommas:

The two biggest shopping days of the year are upon us! Here are my tips to getting the best deals online on Black Friday and Cyber Monday:

1. Clean up your computer - Make sure your computer and internet are in tip top shape – For most of these deals, you have to be quick. If your computer is running slow, take a a few minutes to run your virus program and clean up your computer. You wouldn’t go out to brick and mortar stores with a car that has a flat tire, so make sure your computer is running at it’s best.

2. Double Computer Duty -If you have more than one computer, take advantage of it! If you can, use two computers to check out two different online retailers.

3. Maximize you savings - Sure there are great deals – but you can make most of them even better. Make sure you are signed up for Ebates (http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=x9a7%2Fh4S32E%3D) or BigCrumbs (http://home.bigcrumbs.com/wendy1214)before you start shopping. This is a great way to get a “cash back” rebate on your purchases. Don’t miss out on this extra cash.

4. Be online early. Remember, most sales start online very early. If you want it, set your alarm and be ready to go.

5. Be prepared for website outages. It is going to happen. Some stores just cannot handle the traffic surges. If a particular store is down, don’t waste to much time trying to figure out if it’s your computer. Most likely it is them.

6. Bookmark all the sites you plan on purchasing from. – Don’t wait until Friday to get your list set up. Get all the websites you plan on visiting in your bookmarks. This will save time looking for URLs.

7. Have a list and a backup plan. – Make a list of the items you want to buy and have a backup plan – just in case your first choice sells out. Be sure to have your ITEM number of the product you want to buy listed. Some items look similar but the prices are very different. You can check your item number to make sure you are adding the right thing to your cart.

8. Get a Jump - There will be many deals online on Thanksgiving. If you can start Thursday after your Turkey Time, you may find some good buys.
