Lychee

Also known as “Lychee Nuts,” these small, unmistakably sweet fruit have rough, bumpy rinds that vary from red to pale-green blush. Inside, lychees have a perfumy, juicy grape-like flesh that surrounds a single large seed.

Peel and enjoy alone or add to fruit salads, desserts or chicken and fish dishes. The seed is not edible.

Mexican Red Papaya

Mexican Red Papayas are a special new variety exclusively grown on the Pacific coast of Mexico. They have a deep red flesh and when cut cross-wise, their inner seed cavity is a perfect star shape. The flavor might be described as a smooth, juicy tropical melon. They are picked while the skin is green and gradually ripen to a golden yellow color.

Fuyu Persimmon

Grown in China and Japan since ancient times, the Fuyu Persimmon variety is particularly non-astringent, and has a delicious sweet, mild flavor. This tomato-shaped fruit can be eaten in any ripeness stage – firm and soft – unlike the Hachiya Persimmon, which can only be eaten very ripe.

Fuyus can be eaten hard like an apple or also soft and ripe. Delicious when sliced and added to fruit salads, desserts, or quick breads!
