Website Furniture Reviews?
I am really stuck. My husband and I are trying to pick out furniture and have decided to order through the military exchange. However, tying to find reviews on furniture is becoming impossible.
I've been trying to google reviews for the brands available, but there isn't a lot of consistency. Does anyone know of a source for reviews for furniture ? Also, I'm not a consumer reports subscriber, so that doesn't help. But I'm open to any source with info.
Thank you so much!
PS If you have a personal furniture story - brand you love/hate - I would love to hear it!Lauren

Lauren I looked for 3 years for furniture!!! I was not inpressed with Ashley or Signature at all! I was shoppping for living room furniture. My biggest advice if it is at all possible is to actually sit on the furniture, feel the fabrics, look underneath, check it out with a fine tooth comb. We are not petite people in the Vallone household! My husband and son are 6'5 and 6'3 and I am 5'10 (DD is the runt of the litter) but I have bought furniture that broke down in less than a year. Look for foam cushions that are hi-density. Look for fabrics that are tightly woven! See what kind of cleaning is involved, esp if this something that will be used every day!! I ended up buying from a furniture store that is about an 1 1/2 hours away. Like I said I was buying for my formal living room so this was not going to be used everyday...(heck DH wouldn't even go with me to look, since he knew he would not be allowed to sleep on it, so I was on my own) i ended up buying a sofa and 2 chairs.....i had the chairs customed covered with fabric I picked out and the sofa was from a collection. The brand name was "Best" furniture. The lady told me it was a very reputable brand and so far I am very pleased with it! (of course doent ask my DH, he will tell you he is not even allowed to sit on it) I had Lazy Boy furniture (sofa and 2 wing chairs) for years in this room and I was very pleased with it as well! I did get the fabric treated with a scotch guard type product and I bought a warranty as well! if you can think of any questions please just message me!

Thank you so much for everyone's advice!
Rasha: It can be easier, but in Prescott we have little to no choice for quality. Places like the Room Store have furniture made out of cardboard (literally) that is overpriced. If you know what to look for (like a lot of what Karen said), it helps. But Phoenix won't deliver here and we don't have a truck. Which is why we started looking at the military exchange (we wouldn't have to pay tax) and they will deliver almost anywhere. I'm just unfamiliar with some of the brands.
Wendy: Thank you for the sites! Buzzillions has helped with a few brands but it seems like everything is so positive. It struck me as weird when I couldn't really find anything negative. And it was funny when I would google the brand name and review, whenever Pissed off consumer was one of the first, I knew the brand wouldn't be good lol I never came across pricegrabber or review centre and I'm glad to know about JC Penny. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Karen: Thank you so much for the advice, I will for sure be asking you questions! lol My biggest concern is that I'm going to buy something and then in two months it loses all of it's life. We want this to last for a good amount of time. We are looking at getting two recliners (one for me and one for my husband) and then a couch. We won't use the couch much but I still want it to be good. Right now I'm leaning towards Catnapper for the recliners. I grew up with LaZboy and thought it was great but the reviews I've been reading lately haven't been so hot. I've heard bad things about Ashley and Lane as well. I'll pm you more questions!Lauren
